WE name the guilty ones, the conspirators, the self-appointed arbitors of Aylesbury’s musical tastes…no bullshit man… were talking about the promoters of FFriars, the owners of Dearth Records, the magic lenseman, the ageing hippie teacher, the hack of the Advertiser, the wailing dustman cringecringetc etcetc..
These people have the power to mould musical tastes to such an extent that we willingly suffer AFL and FrUp e.g. whose careers would rapid1y decline without such a regular (and we mean REGULAR) gig.
Is the Aylesbury Rock Set used to further the aims of the friars Collective, whilst slagging the local talent ??? Is the author of page after page of drivel on Mott not the organiser of the MTH fan club? Is the deserved reputation of Friars going to be squandered on a succession of mediocre bands???? Maybe it is because the Power resides in the hands of the few. Yeah…it’s the old monopoly game, THEY control what you hear, the previews of what you hear, the reviews of what you hear, the articles about what you hear…you hear and read and are totally immersed in what THEY want you to.
